How lucky are we; the word is out that renowned British designer Jenny Packham’s gowns will be gracing the Frances Day rails!!
As one of Britain’s most celebrated bridal wear designers, Jenny Packham is the very talented creative behind the brand name now synonymous with red-carpet glamour and wedding day elegance. From dressing A-list royalty - including Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, Kate Winslet and Kate Hudson - to actual royalty like the Duchess of Cambridge! Her bejewelled, delicate and tactile floor-length creations never disappoint the waiting photographers.
Founded in 1988, designing evening and bridal wear, her early textile and apparel design training influenced her work today to a great extent. The latest 35 piece collection inspired by the novel ‘Falling’, by Colin Thubron is full of the luxury Jenny Packham embellished silhouette that now epitomises this British bridal giant.
Whilst on our recent trip to The White Gallery trade fair we were very lucky to meet the team in their central London office. Their HQ is a stunning piece of architecture in itself. Julia, Jenny and myself were treated to a show of the most amazing and opulent gowns from the new 2018 collection. We had a very difficult time trying to select what will be The Frances Day collection of Jenny Packham for the upcoming new season - can we not just have them all?!
Prior to the new collection arriving in September we will also be stocking a selection of their current collection which can you believe arrive today! How lucky am I that it happened to be one of my days working in the boutique. I have to say it was like a ceremonial opening of the box, better than Christmas! I was stunned by the gorgeous beading, the quality of the chiffon and the sheer level of craftsmanship that goes into making each gown.
These are very exciting times at Frances Day, and I feel very privileged to be on board and part of the journey. And of course when the new collection gowns arrive there will be the obligatory 'welcome' party... we will keep you posted on this.
