Rebekah and Marcus’ wedding day threw all of the elements at them! And not one single puff of wind or droplet of rain could dampen the spirits of these two newlyweds! With a smile that will light up the darkest room, Rebekah danced ‘til the wee small hours. And when Luis Holden - their photographer - suggested an impromptu photoshoot on the beach, the couple jumped at the chance.
But thats enough from me, I’ll pass you over to the bride herself who has kindly shared all the details with us. So pop the kettle on and enjoy all of Rebekah’s gorgeous wedding memories. x
Bridal Fashion : My motto has always been simple but effective - and that's exactly the vibe we wanted for our wedding day! We wanted a classic but modern style whilst still encompassing traditional elements within our special day.
Tell us about your most memorable moments when shopping for your dress. : I loved it all!!
One of my most memorable moments has to be that lovely Julia opened the shop ESPECIALLY for me between Christmas and New Year! This was totally unexpected! I was made to feel like one of the FDB family instantly. I loved Julia's tips and reactions and instantly knew my dress was the one (after only trying on 3 others I believe?!) from the way Julia and my mum reacted. Also, the glass of fizz to celebrate had to be another highlight! I loved my appointments in the build up, and we had lots of giggles during my dress fittings too!
My journey didn't end at the wedding either. I was made to feel so welcome when I picked my dress up after being dry cleaned and it was lovely to share my wedding photos and memories with Emma of our day.
The location: We got married on the North Norfolk Coast - a very special place for us. My mum and dad bought a holiday home there when I was six months old, and we've spent many happy weekends and holidays there. When I met my husband, he was soon introduced to trips to Norfolk, and we've spent many weekends and holidays enjoying ourselves there. We had always thought we may get married in Norfolk, and when Marcus proposed to me on one of our favourite Norfolk beaches (Holkham), our Norfolk wedding story began! He proposed to me on the Saturday, and by the time we came back to Nottingham on Sunday we had seen 3 wedding venues there!!
We had always wanted a church wedding, so we got married in our favourite church (Thornham) and then had our reception at the wonderful Titchwell Manor.
The main event - Your Wedding Day! : After very little sleep (not due to the wedding nerves but due to the rain pouring on the Velux window and the wind howling) I was up at the crack of dawn. We had a gorgeous early morning breakfast in our rooms from Titchwell Manor whilst being made up by the lovely Flamingo Amy. Wonderful Luis and Mike (photographer and videographer) then arrived and they loved my calm attitude despite the miserable rainy weather. I honestly didn't care! This was my wedding day and I wasn't going to let the rain dampen my dream day!
After getting ready and seeing my dad's reaction (one of my highlights), my uncle chauffeur us to the church. Dad and I had a couple of swigs of whisky on route from his hip flask which was a good laugh!
Arriving at the church was HILARIOUS - I had used a friend's garter for my 'something borrowed and blue' and it slipped down my leg as I was walking down the church path towards the entrance. It was also raining at this time so I was in fits of giggles. All the guests in the church knew I'd arrived outside as they could hear me giggling!
The rest of the day ran like clockwork and if the worse things to happen on your wedding day are losing your garter around your ankle and rain, I think we got off extremely lightly!! We even got to the beach in the blustery wind and rain!!
Words of Wisdom: Although I hate to admit it....! let your husband really get involved with the organisation of your day if they'd like to as it is their day too! My husband did so much of our wedding planning and if it wasn't for his numerous spreadsheets, designing, emails and liaising with different suppliers, we wouldn't have had the same wedding day!
